Congratulations to Brandon and Emily Allison, winners of the 2025 Christmas Lighting Contest, and recipients of the $50 gift card. Their house at 4001 Eaton is amazing and you should drive by to see it.
From Emily and Brandon: Hi - We are the Allison household.(Brandon, Emily, Averie and Gavin) We live at 4001 Eaton. We are going on 7 years of residency and absolutely love it here. We find it to be a peaceful and friendly place to live. We’ve had a chance to meet many people throughout the neighborhood and gotten so close to some that we consider family. Don’t be a stranger, we are actually very friendly people and welcome everyone. If anyone ever needs anything, you know where to find us. We are at the top of the hill. With bright Christmas lights 😂😂 (seasonal). I’m blessed to be a stay at home mom. I enjoy painting, loving on my dogs, traveling, and spending time with my family. My husband is a regional sales rep for the largest hose distributor in Oklahoma. Primarily deals with oil and gas, construction and industrial. Thank you to everyone that voted for our house this year. We’re so happy that you like it and hope the kids enjoy the lights as much as we do. God bless and Merry Christmas!!

Richard and Mary Malaska are recipients of October Yard of the Month and have lived in Clayton Pond since 2017. They reside at 4204 Ainsley. They love Clayton Pond because they see it as the friendliest, most neighborly place they have ever lived. Richard and Mary are both retired and currently enjoy time with children and grandchildren. Thanks to Richard and Mary for their contributions to the beauty of Clayton Pond. Unfortunately, Richard was ill and unavailable for a photo, but we were able to capture a picture of them together.
Ray and Sue Thornton have the Yard of the Month for September. Ray and Sue live at 100 Ainsley Ct. and have lived in Clayton Pond for almost 18 years.
Ray and Sue were educators in Texas. After they retired, they served as educational missionaries in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Ray served as a school principal and Sue was a substitute and ESL teacher. They served there for 2 years before moving to Edmond to be near their daughter, Susan and family. Ray currently works at Matthews Funeral Home and Sue is retired. Ray served on the HOA board for several years and sponsors the annual fishing derby for our neighborhood children. Ray and Sue are wonderful assets for Clayton Pond and add to it's beauty. Congratulations to Rosalind Martin, recipient of August Yard of the Month. Rosalind moved to her beautiful home at 401 Ainsley 16 years ago. Rosalind is a widow and is retired as Director of Financial Aid at Metro Technology Centers. She has 2 boys, 4 grandsons & 6 great grandchildren and is fondly known as Gigi. You can find her working in her flower beds in the front and back of her beautiful yard. Also, you can see Rosalind getting her exercise by walking the neighborhood in the wee hours.
Thank you Rosalind for making Clayton Pond such a beautiful place to live and being a good neighbor. Congratulations to Larry and Sherry Phelps, who live at 4105 Ainsley, for being selected July Yard of the Month. They moved into Clayton Pond 28 years ago. Larry is retired from the United States Air Force and Sherry is retired from the Department of Defense (we thank you for your service). They have three boys, two girls, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Larry is always ready to lift a helping hand to assist with neighborhood projects and Sherry is a wealth of information about some of the history of Clayton Pond (particularly about stocking and care of fish in our ponds).
Thanks Larry and Sherry for your contributions and making Clayton Pond a beautiful place to live. Andy and Amy Springer, June Yard of the Month recipients, purchased the house at 4012 Devon in April 2024. They are still in the process of a complete remodel. They actually moved in to the house in August 2024. They are "newly weds" - married in June 2024. Amy moved from Choctaw and Andy moved from NW OKC. Amy has sons who are grown, unmarried, and have no children.
Amy works for Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance. She is a crafter, mechanic, sewer, carpenter, and a great cook. Andy has 3 children, 4 grandchildren. He owns ANCO Property Services, Inc. and still works part time. Their hope is to have the remodel finished by this fall. In their spare time, they both love to travel and have been on some great trips together and plan many more in the future. They have become great neighbors and a wonderful addition to the beautification of Clayton Pond. Our May Yard of Month is 4104 Bristol Lane. This beautiful home belongs to Mark & Karla Winslow who have lived & raised three children in Clayton Pond these past 21 years. Mark works at Southern Nazarene University and Karla works for Edmond Public schools. Thank you for helping make Clayton Pond a Special place to live.
As each of the homeowners know, the traffic on 2nd street continues to grow. Also with this, noise created by traffic also increases daily.
A major effort has been implemented toward improving the cedars that line 2nd street. Over the years these trees have been neglected and hardwood trees have been allowed to invade this barrier. We are happy to report this is no longer the case. Hardwoods have mostly been eliminated and will continue to be a focus. The HOA allotted funds to purchase 20 new trees....we actually paid for 10 and received 10 free....these were planted on 3/30/25 with the help of David Hanson, Darren Metzger, Tom Cole, Mike Ellis, and Monty McKinzy. We are all thankful for the help of these neighbors and their time that was given. In a year or two, the sound barrier along the front will become much improved. Congratulations to Lee and Beverly Endicott for being selected April Yard of the Month recipients. They moved to 201 Berkshire in Clayton Pond in 1999. Lee is a partner at Bullard & Associates and Beverly is retired from UCO. They have two sons and a golden retriever (seen in photo) named Mavis and a cat named Olide.
Both Lee and Beverly have been great contributors to Clayton Pond activities over the years and can be seen walking the neighborhood with Mavis. Thanks to both for adding to the beauty of Clayton Pond and making it a great place to live. We are thrilled to announce that the Cuthbertson family has won this year’s Clayton Pond Christmas Decoration Contest! Their beautiful and festive display truly embodies the joy and spirit of the season.
The Cuthbertsons have been a cherished part of our Clayton Pond community for the past eight years. Pastor Terry Cuthbertson leads Hope City Church OKC, while his wife, Nina, is a dedicated Pre-K teacher at Will Rogers Elementary in Edmond Public Schools. Nina recently earned her master’s degree in education—congratulations, Nina! Their family includes Ayla, a 17-year-old student at Memorial High School, and Ashton, 13, who attends Central Middle School. Together, the Cuthbertsons have made it their mission to spread Christmas cheer, sharing love, hope, and joy with their neighbors through their stunning decorations. Thank you, Cuthbertson family, for making our neighborhood even more special this holiday season! 🎅🌟 |
